This residence was designed for one of the country’s most experienced property developers. It was an honour to be commissioned to create his new family home on one of the most coveted streets of Toorak. Our client envisioned a residence that would contribute to the heritage of exceptional architecture in Melbourne.
The design presents a unique solution to the challenges of the site’s sloping land. Three storeys face the street, while two storeys at the rear absorb the gradient. This allows cars to be driven directly into a garage without the need for a steep ramp down to the basement carpark.
Behind the dramatic façade, the floorplan features all the ingredients of a significant residence: reception spaces, public and private living rooms, an indoor pool, a tennis court, and a large lawn which is the measure of every great house.
